Douglas lifeboat joined RNLI colleagues from the UK and a coastguard helicopter last night in a major operation to help a fishing boat.
The Ruby Clery launched shortly after 10pm to join Barrow lifeboat as it raced to the 16-metre Lady Helen.
The fishing boat contacted the UK coastguard to say it was taking on water around 22 miles southeast of the Island's capital.
Five crew members were safely rescued, and another fishing boat helped tow the Lady Helen to Fleetwood.
