The Island has a new director of public health in the Department of Health and Social Care.
Dr Henrietta Ewart takes over the role permanently, after serving as interim director since last April.
The directorate focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of the whole Island, rather than caring for and treating individuals.
Health and Social Care Minister Kate Beecroft says public health has a key role in the Island's five year strategy for health, encouraging people to take greater responsibility for their own health.
