A new report has thrown a light on population trends.
The figures come from the Isle of Man Population Atlas, written by Paul Craine.
He has been following population trends for over 30-years.
His research is partly based on the government's 'Isle of Man in Numbers' which estimates there are only 127 more people under the age of 65 than there were in 2016- that means there is 3,200 less under 65s than there were in 2011.
More than 20% of the Isle of Man's population is over-65, keeping the Island in a group of countries with the oldest populations, which also includes Japan, Italy, Portugal, Finland, Germany and Greece.
Since 2014 the number of deaths have been higher than the number of births.
