An investigation has been launched after a racer died in last night’s Southern 100 practice session.
It happened at around 7.15pm during the first practice of this year’s event – leading to the session being called off.
Police say details of the incident, which happened on the approach to the Ballakeighan Corner, are still unclear.
The rider involved has not been identified but their family members are being supported by a welfare officer from the ACU.
Anyone who saw what happened has been asked to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
