A Steam Packet captain who was found dead at his home last month hung himself.
The inquest into the death of 44-year-old Stephen Michael Spenser was opened at Douglas Courthouse this morning.
His body was found at his home address in Governor’s Hill on October 30th – the post mortem confirmed the cause of death as hanging.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham released his body to his family so that funeral arrangements can now be made.
The inquest has been adjourned to date to be fixed.
