Inflation remains stable in May

Inflation remained level last month after a huge jump in April because of the war in Iran.

Figures from the Cabinet office show at the end of May, the consumer prices index stood at 4.9 per cent.

Oils and other fuels have seen the largest increase over the last 12 months - up 77.4 per cent.

Over the same period, petrol has risen by 24.9 per cent.
