Inflation falls last month but remains high overall

Inflation on the Island fell again last month - but is still around twice as high as it was this time last year.

The latest figures published by the Cabinet Office show the Consumer Price Index stood at 4.6 per cent, down 0.3 per cent on May.

Statistics Isle of Man says over the last year the biggest riser has been oil and fuels - up more than 73 per cent.

Petrol has also seen a steep rise, up 22 per cent over the last 12 months.
