A man’s walked free from court after charges of possessing child porn were withdrawn.
Paul Joseph Egan of Orry Place on Castletown denied three counts of possessing indecent images of children and a trial was due to be held last week.
A previous hearing was told police were alleged to have found eight images on Mr Egan’s phone, four of which were second-highest on a scale of seriousness.
However, technical concerns about the images meant prosecutors didn’t think there was a realistic chance of a conviction.
They withdrew all the charges.
