The Isle of Man Steam Packet says it is currently dealing with an incident involving the Manxman.
The statement was released earlier this morning on its website.
The company says the relevant authorities have been notified and a further update will be given once further details of the incident are known.
The Manxman is due to depart for Heysham at 8.30am.
