Improvements have been made to Dhoon Glen to stop the path getting water logged.
The Department of Infrastructure has created a ditch along the edge of the public right of way to allow water to be diverted down to the river.
It comes as water continually seeps down from the fields above the path, making the surface boggy.
The department says there will be a period where sections will still be wet, but as the ditch begins to take the excess water the ground will dry and vegetation will grow back.
