A yellow weather warning remains in place until 9am this morning.
The warning for ice and wintry showers has been in force since last night.
Forecasters predict temperatures could plummet to or slightly below zero along with strong to gale force winds.
They add some snow or hail could've possibly fallen on the highest roads on Island above around 1000 feet.
