A high school on the Island is considering banning mobile phones.
In Tynwald this week the Education Minister revealed Castle Rushen High School is thinking about getting rid of the devices.
It's currently asking parents, teachers and students for their views on the idea - it would affect Key Stage 3 pupils, aged between 11 and 14.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse asked the Minister if his department would back the move - he said each school is free to have its own policy.
He added although phones can be distracting, they can be an important communication tool for parents.
