Help available for homesick students

The Samaritans says the first few weeks of being away from home can be a 'whirlwind' and despite being exciting it can often be a 'daunting' time. 

 

The charity wants Manx students who are feeling overwhelmed to contact its volunteers who are on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week in order to talk through their concerns. 

 

It says whilst a lot of universities have student wellbeing programmes, which can help, it is often difficult to talk to someone directly about concerns they are facing.
