The Department of Health and Social Care has announced a recruitment freeze to save cash.
The department says it's stopped recruiting people for non-essential roles.
The measure has been brought in to keep inside the £210 million budget approved by Tynwald.
Minister Kate Beecroft says frontline staff will still be recruited to keep critical services running and recruitment already underway will be completed.
