The Health Minister has attributed more people taking their health seriously with an increased demand on the service.
David Anderson spoke out after the Budget for this year was revealed saying there is mounting pressures on the NHS.
TV and magazine exposure is encouraging people to take a greater interest in their bodies.
The Minister says it is by no means a bad thing but has forced the department to devise new approaches for the future:
