The government's planning to punish drug dealers who sell "legal highs" to youngsters at a wide range of venues.
Later this month, Tynwald will be asked to approve an amendment order to the Psychoactive Substances Act.
The law was introduced last year from the UK, effectively outlawing all "legal highs".
The amendment will mean courts deal more harshly with dealers who ply their trade near schools.
Treasury Minister Alf Cannan will move the order, which will change how courts can view aggravating factors in such cases.
Originally, the Act meant dealers would only face harsher punishment if they sold drugs near schools.
But after questions from David Ashford MHK last October, the law will now be broadened beyond just Island schools.
The new rules will mean those dealing at any university, college or other educational establishment or institution will face stricter sentences in future.
