Guy Martin quits road racing

TT fan favourite Guy Martin says he's giving up on road racing.

Guy had signed up with Honda to race alongside John McGuinness, but saw his dreams of victory dashed this year when he came off his machine during the Superbike Race.

He later dropped out of the Senior TT - and announced he wouldn't compete at the Ulster Grand Prix.

Now, however, he says he's had enough - and is calling time on his road racing career.

Guy took time off last year, missing the TT to pursue his other interests, and in recent years has seen his TV career take off.

The 35 year old lorry mechanic from Kirmington has been talking to Motorcycle News about his decision.

He says although he's enjoyed racing over the course of his career, he's now bored with the same routine year in year out.

Guy added: "Racing's been good to me, but I'm bored of it. It's like Groundhog Day. It's time to stop."
