Guilty plea from man who used benefits to buy cannabis

A Douglas man who spent his benefit money on buying cannabis to sell to other drug users will be sentenced in June.

Police raided 20-year-old Paul Galbraith's home on Kingswood Grove on April 1st - they found cannabis in a glass jar behind the sofa, in a coffee jar and in a plastic bag.

The drug, which weighed just under 70 grams, had a street value of £1,354.

At Douglas Courthouse yesterday he admitted possession of the Class B substance with intent to supply.

His advocate told the court that Galbraith had used cannabis for some time and had paid a dealer £500 for around 80 grams of the drug.

Social enquiry reports have been requested before he's sentenced on June 14th.
