Guilty plea from drink driver who didn't have licence

A disqualified driver who crashed on the Mountain Road in April whilst drink driving has been told he'll be sentenced next month.

39-year-old Jonathon Bostock took his partner's car without her permission on April 23rd - despite having no driving license.

The Douglas man ended up crashing between the Bungalow and Brandywell and was taken to hospital with a severe elbow injury - no one else was injured.

At the hospital police conducted a breathalyser test which showed Bostock was over the drink drive limit.

At Douglas Courthouse earlier this week he admitted the four charges against him as well as three counts of theft.

He stole three bottles of Irish Cream liqueur from Shoprite and Winerite in Douglas telling police it was because he was "depressed and desperate" at the time and had turned to alcohol.

Social enquiry reports have now been requested - Bostock will be sentenced on September 15th.
