Chief Minister Alf Cannan says the government is fully committed to a 9.9 per cent rise in the Island's minimum wage.
This week in the House of Keys he faced a question about the increase from Onchan MHK Julie Edge.
Mr Cannan said the rise will come in next April, as the government considers ways to improve the economic outlook.
And he added there would be help for the Island's businesses:
