The people responsible for a malicious attack on the government website may never be discovered.
An investigation into the incident last month which rendered the site unusable is still ongoing.
Economic Development Minister John Shimmin confirmed in the House of Keys yesterday that his department is liaising with police.
However he said in the majority of similar cases the perpetrators are difficult to identify and prosecute.
The attack was said to be significant in size and the first to affect the gov.im website in this way.
