The chairman of Onchan Commissioners believes good planning has enabled them to introduce a rent cap.
Urban Onchan is the Island’s second-largest settlement behind Douglas with a population of nearly 10,000.
Some residents would have seen a 22 per cent hike in rent under new plans by the Department of Social Care.
Robin Turton says the authority has enjoyed a good relationship with its residents and he doesn't want this to change:
