Gillings Places 8th in Winter Olympic Games
It was a disappointing result for Manx snowboarder Zoe Gillings yesterday as she competed in the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
After initially speeding through the qualifications round Gillings went onto the finish 8th overall as she was forced to bow out quickly into the final event.
It’s believed a knee injury sustained in the semi final was to blame for her pulling out.
Following the race the 24 year old said overall she’s pleased with placing in the top 8 and will begin to concentrate her efforts on the next Games set for 2014.
