Earnings figures from the government show women doing manual work saw their wages drop last year - while their male colleagues enjoyed a massive rise.
The Economic Affairs Division's earnings survey shows man doing manual jobs earned £568 a week in 2016, up 14.1 per cent on the previous year.
Women doing similar work, however earned just £365 a week, down 1.3 per cent on 2015's figure.
The data released at the end of last week shows men earn an average of £775 a week, while women make £566.
