An elderly Manx resident was conned out of more than £15,000 in an online romance fraud.
The Island's Cyber-Security Centre highlighted the case in its latest threat report.
It says the woman fell for a man using a fake picture online, who talked her into transferring £3,000 for vet bills - before another fraudster conned her into transferring another £12,500 to investigate.
The organization says the woman's bank stepped in and prevented her from transferring another £50,000.
It adds it's crucial to verify who you're talking to online and report anything suspicious.
