The tourism industry is a key part of the economy and is a major area of growth.
That’s the view of the Economic Development Minister who says his department is undertaking a wide range of initiatives to stimulate growth in the sector.
Almost £100 million was generated for the Manx economy from visitors last year and it’s hoped this can be built upon.
However John Shimmin admits that there are no plans to develop prime empty sites in Douglas into assets for the industry:
