The occupant of a flat in Douglas had to be taken to hospital on Saturday after leaving a pan unattended on the hob.
Firefighters were called to the property on Lord Street at 12.44am following a call for help from a neighbour.
On arrival crews found the occupant of the flat outside - they were taken to Noble's by paramedics after suffering smoke inhalation.
