Workers cut to help Department of Community, Culture and Leisure with budget difficulties
It’s been confirmed that five railway workers will be made redundant after an independent panel dismissed their appeals.
They were told that they would be assisted with redeployment until the end of their service, which is the end of July.
The redundancies were made to help the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure deal with budgetry issues.
Normally the appeal would be to the Chief Executive Officer of the Department but an independent panel was convened to avoid any conflict of interest.
