Firefighters were called out yesterday to tackle a house fire in St Johns.
Teams were mobilised to a home on The Hope at around 4.20pm on Thursday and found the occupant was already out of the property.
Crews investigated the smoke-logged premises and found a kitchen appliance to be the cause.
A high pressure hose-reel was then used to extinguish the flames before the house was then ventilated.
