Firefighters were called to flats in Douglas last night after a blaze broke out.
The incident happened shortly before 7.30pm, but residents had already managed to put out the fire when crews arrived.
An automatic alarm system meant residents in other flats in the building evacuated safely.
Firefighters spent 20 minutes clearing the smoke, and say damage to the flat was minimal.
