A heater placed too close to bedding sparked a blaze in the west of the Island at the weekend.
Firefighters from Peel were called out at 6pm on Saturday to a house on Fenella Terrace when the fire broke out in a bedroom.
The householders were alerted by a smoke alarm and evacuated the building safely before the emergency services arrived.
The Fire and Rescue Service says portable heaters should be kept well away from anything that may catch fire.
