Fire crews are continuing to monitor the acetylene cylinder fire at Jurby Industrial Estate, and will be for the ‘foreseeable.’
The Fire Service says they have to let the cylinder burn and vent while cooling it and the nearby area, due to the volatile nature of acetylene.
They also thank the Police and Manx Gas for their assistance.
Members of the public are still asked to avoid the area and a further update will be issued in due course.
