Fire Crews were called to a kitchen blaze on Tuesday at a property in Springfield Avenue in Douglas.
Upon arrival two fire-fighters entered the property wearing breathing apparatus to tend to a chip pan fire.
They used a fire fighting hose reel and Co2 extinguisher.
One occupant of the house had to be given first aid for smoke inhalation; they were taken to hospital but later discharged.
Fire teams are reminding the public to never try to tackle a chip pan fire yourself, the safest option is to evacuate the house and call 999.
