Horse Slips On Ice
The Isle of Man’s Fire and Rescue Service were called to the
aid of a 22 year old Shire Horse that had slipped on ice during the night, at
the Isle of Man Home of Rest for Old Horses.
The fire teams were called following numerous attempts by
staff and a veterinary surgeon to lift the horse, which is reported to weigh
close to a ton.
Once the fire service arrived on the scene they were able to
use their specialist slings and lifting equipment.
