The Island’s inclusion and endorsement of the FATCA tax exchange pilot will be a major talking point at the upcoming G8 Summit.
Government has been engaging with the major power countries that make up the G8 ahead of June’s meeting.
The Island is recognised as being the first of the smaller jurisdictions to commit to the pilot that’s been developed in partnership between the United States and the UK as a way of stamping out tax crime.
Chief Minister Allan Bell says despite being a much smaller country in comparison to other members the same problems and issues are being felt across the board:
