A woman has died after the car she was driving collided with a tree on Lezayre Road.
Police have announced that at 6.30pm yesterday the 27 year-old was driving in the direction of Sulby when she lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree before coming to rest in the road.
The woman, who was driving, was pronounced dead at the scene - the two children in the car received minor injuries but remain in Noble's Hospital for observations.
Officers have said they are 'keeping an open mind' about the circumstances at the moment but are appealing to anyone who may have seen the black Vauxhall Astra hatchback driving in the north of the Island to contact Police Headquarters.
