Lloyds Banking Group has applied for planning permission to reclad the outside of the Peveril Building on Peveril Square.
In its application the company says it wants to take down the current brickwork and replace it with a modern look.
And it adds the work won't have any impact on the surrounding area or change the interior of the office building.
