Police on Island are warning of scam which is targeting Facebook users.
According to officers, fraudsters are sending people messages from America claiming that if you send through £500 you will receive £100,000 in return.
Residents are now being advised should they receive such a message to not reply and report the matter to Facebook and their bank.
The constabulary added it wants to spread the word to avoid anyone losing their money.
