Reports of a gas smell in Ramsey yesterday prompted engineers to carry out emergency works.
Workers found a fault on the main gas pipe in Parliament Street.
Ramsey Town Commissioners said temporary repairs have been made, with a full replacement scheduled for Monday, November 3.
As a result, Parliament Street will be closed and parking on West Street will be suspended while the work is completed.
