Dog owners will have to microchip their four-legged friends in future - or face a £500 fine.
From Sunday, new laws will see the end to the current dog licence system - they will be replaced by microchips.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it'll help reunite lost pets with their owners.
Although the new laws come into effect from April, dog owners have six months to make sure their pooch is chipped before facing a fine of up to £500.
