Emergency services came to the aid of a casualty injured on the Calf of Man yesterday afternoon.
A coastguard helicopter was called at 12.30 to help someone who had suffered a suspected broken ankle and required immediate evacuation at the lighthouse on the west side.
Port Erin coastguards were then called in to provide further assistance and were on site at 2.30.
Teams then worked together to safely remove the casualty from the tower, who was then airlifted to Nobles Hospital for treatment.
IOM Coastguards is thanking everyone who was involved in the operation, saying the conditions were 'particularly challenging'.
