The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has given an update on this morning's technical 'incident'.
It says during the Manxman's 2.15am sailing from Heysham to Douglas, smoke was detected in a machinery space, resulting in a muster of all passengers to emergency stations.
It adds this triggered the shoreside emergency response process.
All passengers were able to disembark as normal and there was no threat to the overall safety of the vessel.
It adds investigations are underway and today's Manannan's sailings have been rescheduled to facilitate as many passengers as possible.
