People on the Island are being asked to inform emergency services if they're planning a bonfire.
It's part of efforts to stop firefighters being called out unnecessarily.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has put out the plea at a time of year when people are often looking for a way to dispose of extra rubbish.
It follows two callouts to rubbish fires earlier this month - at one in Foxdale crews identified asbestos near to the fire and had to take 'precautionary safety procedures'.
Uncontrolled burning can produce smoke, odours and pollute the environment - it can also be hazardous to health and safety as well as being a nuisance to neighbours.
There are 'strict guidelines' in place concerning the disposal of waste materials - the service says failing to adhere to these could result in enforcement action.
