Education bosses watching GCSE situation closely

The Department of Education and Children has confirmed it's held meetings with overseas counterparts regarding proposed changes to GCSEs.

It says the Island could now break away from England's system if a planned overhaul went ahead.
 
UK Education Secretary revealed the plans yesterday which would see the current grading system of A to G grades being scrapped, less coursework and changes in the syllabus for core subjects.

Paul Craine, who is the coordinator for 11-19 education on the Island, says he is watching the developments closely:
