100 Out of Work for Over a Year
The Department of Trade and Industry have revealed that more than 100 people on the Island have been out of work for over a year.
By the end of June there were a total of 922 people out of work, that’s 2.2 per cent of the economically active population.
Following a report it was made clear that people out of full time employment for long periods of time may lack confidence in approaching job applications and the interview process.
A raft of measures have been introduced to help those out of work, some 576 job vacancies were available at the Job Centre last month.
