A van driver will be sentenced next month after admitting causing serious bodily harm by driving without due care and attention.
Jeffrey Fargher of Douglas Road in Ballasalla appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 37 year old pleaded guilty to committing the offence at the junction of Orrisdale Road and Douglas Road in Ballasalla on February 9.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing Fargher pulled out of the junction in his white Peugeot van into the path of an oncoming Hyundai car which was travelling at 60mph.
Fargher suffered a head injury in the crash, while the other motorist sustained a broken ankle as well as cuts and bruises.
When interviewed, Fargher told police he couldn’t remember anything about the crash.
He was bailed to appear again for sentencing on September 6.
