Could a drive-in Cinema soon be open on Island?
It comes folllowing a post on social media by Local company Ultimate Productions.
It says: “I wanted to take this opportunity to respond personally and in-depth to all of the lovely messages of support we have had from YOU our fans, past and present asking for us to get the Outdoor Cinema up and running again to help cheer everyone up.”
Due to current restrictions amid the Coronavirus pandemic there has been a surge in the drive in cinema industry in Europe as people can social distance in their car.
The post continues “Our sister company ELS (Event Lighting Services Ltd) own and operate the Island’s Only giant outdoor rated LED Screen.
At a whopping 7m wide by 3m high it can be used in bright daylight and provides a full High Definition picture.
Coupled with our state of the art digital audio system we have an amazing solution for you all.
The LED screen will allow us to do cinema screenings both during the day and also the evenings.”
However, organisers add it’s imperative that they look after both their and others’ health so they to will be employing some very strict rules and procedures which are currently being drawn up in conjunction with the relevant Departments.
At present there is no start date, as this will be wholly dependant on when Government are happy for it to operate.
Lastly, it adds it will be aiming to cater for families and children with afternoon matinee shows, teatime screenings and then a later screening for the over 15 market.
