A drink-driver who was caught after parking his car to urinate on a wall has been given ten penalty points and told committing almost any other driving offence will see him banned.
Wael Mohammed Kassim of North Shore Road in Ramsey appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 22 year old changed his plea and admitted being in charge of a vehicle while over the limit on Ballure Promenade in Ramsey on November 15 last year.
The court heard police spoke to Kassim after spotting him urinating, and noticed he smelled of alcohol.
At police headquarters, a blood test showed he was just over one and a half times the legal limit.
At the urging of his advocate Paul Glover, magistrates agreed not to impose a driving ban - saying penalty points would force him to drive carefully or face losing his licence.
They imposed ten points and fined Kassim £750, also ordering him to pay £300 costs.
