A drink-driver from Onchan has been banned from the roads for three years.
George Arthur Horner of Royal Avenue West appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 47-year-old admitted drink-driving at 03.30 on July 25 on Douglas Promenade.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing Horner was spotted driving his Renault Megane erratically by another driver who followed him as he drove through roadworks.
The court heard police arrived when he stopped outside his home and arrested him – at police headquarters he turned out to be more than two and a half times the legal limit.
He told officers he’d been drinking at a friend’s flat and the hearing was told he’d been convicted of the same offence 19 years ago.
Horner was ordered to do 140 hours of community service and pay £125 costs as well as being banned from driving for three years.
