A Douglas man who drank vodka and coke before driving to a shop for electricity has been banned from the roads for two years.
Paul Stephen Rolfe of Richmond Hill was reported to police after being spotted getting into his car at Anagh Coar despite smelling strongly of alcohol.
At Douglas Courthouse this week, the 52 year old pleaded guilty to drink driving after the court heard a blood test showed he had 174 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood - the legal limit is 80.
